Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a deeply relaxing practice, during which we swich the nervous system into healing, rest-digest mode (parasympathetic response).

With Yin Yoga, an experience of stillness and calm, we create an antipole to our intense and often daily (Yang) activities. This starts already with rushig somewhere and feeling pressure to “get things done” (fight or flight mode, sympathetic nervous system).

Seldom we pursue to integrate more Yin moments into our life, even though we might already be aware, that we need more of them.

All poses are floor poses and you stay in them for several minutes, thereby allowing your muscles and mind to relax, sinking into deep stretches and getting targeted awareness of your bodie’s anatomy. The practice in itself is a training to become aware of tension your mind and body is holding and regulating it. With persistent practice, the body and muscles relax intuitively and release at your mental cue.

Yin Yoga is suitable for everybody! In fact, Yin Yoga is a practice where we are all invited to engage with our body each day as it is.

Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body. The list of advantages is long, starting at an increased range of motion and even giving us the possibilitiy to heal scar tissue!
